Fated Sarah Alderson Books

FATED jumps right in and starts with action, and it doesn't stop until the very last page. I haven't read a book with so much fighting and training and everything like that for a while, and it was great! There wasn't a single moment in the book in which I was bored or left hanging, wondering what was going to happen next, because nothing ever stopped happening, if that makes sense! I NEEDED to keep reading even though it was super late and I was falling asleep because there was no way I'd be able to wait to find out what happened to Evie.

Speaking of Evie... She was AWESOME. She was kick-butt and (nearly) the whole time she was determined and strong and I loved finding out all about her and her new world right along with her. There was a little bit in the middle in which she disappointed me, but that didn't matter so much because she comes back EVEN BETTER and even stronger so it wasn't all bad. I loved how wary she was of everything, and how she didn't believe everything she was told all at once just because someone who says they're 'the good guy' says so. She seemed very level-headed and sensible and I liked how she didn't get distracted by all the crazy.

And then there was Lucas. I loved how there were two storylines about him - one with Evie and one with The Brotherhood. I enjoyed reading about both sides of his life, and it was great learning all about the Brotherhood and finding out how they operated. Let me tell you, they sound SCARY. Like, a big, supernatural gang who have no problem with killing you if you get in their way. And, what he did in the end was ADORABLE. Aww, it was so cute and he gave up so much and, awwww, it was great.

The plot was amazing. Like I said before, it was full of action, but it wasn't just that. I couldn't stop reading because there was always something happening, and I could NEVER guess what was coming next. Like, I'm awful at guessing plots anyway, but with this I had no hope at all. Half way through I thought maybe I had an idea as to what would happen, but I was so, so wrong. And at the end, looking back, I'd never have guessed. Like, there were complete character reversals, and I'm still not 100% sure who was good and who was bad.

Overall, FATED was amazing. An awesome read, one that I'd recommend to everyone who's a fan of young adult. It's one of those paranormal books that's more of a contemporary with a paranormal twist than a paranormal.

Fated Sarah Alderson Books Reviews

A very slow start. Not the best read, but as I got more into it, the story got better and I was more interested
Kids love it!
Having read Sarah Alderson's other books, Hunting Lila and Losing Lila, I was already a fan of her ability to create engaging story lines with a mix of fantasy and mystery. Fated is an excellent addition to her work.

Fated takes you on a fast-paced journey through teen love, other world realms, vampires, demons, and Shadow Warriors. The main character, Evie, is a genuine, honest, strong character who is discovering her unusual family history and her potential destiny. She is surrounded by a cast of characters ranging from blood thirsty vampires to Hunters who are struggling with their own destinies.

It is a very fun and engaging read. Alderson has an incredible knack for this genre and she delivers again. I have already ordered Severed and Shadowed to see where she brings her readers next. I trust they will be great.
After reading a snippet of Fated by Sarah Alderson in the back of the Hunting Lila novel I was anxious to get hold of it and I am happy to say it didn't disappoint.

17 year old Evie Tremain is our main protagonist and lives a relatively quiet life in Riverview with her adoptive mother but has dreams of studying in New York, her life hasn't been easy, her father and best friend who was cheating with her boyfriend Tom have both recently died and she has just discovered that there is a whole brotherhood of Unhuman as they are known beings after her.

I thought Evie was wonderful! She was kick-butt, sassy and determined with a big attitude but she also had an inner fear of the unknown which made her more real and finding out she is a Hunter - the last in a long line of Demon slayers has certainly made her question her life. To help her is fellow Hunter and mentor, Victor Lassonde.

The Brotherhood after Evie are a group of Paranormal beings including Mixen Demons, Thirsters (Vampires), Scorpio Demons and Shapeshifters, each were terrifying in their own way and determined to kill Evie. Amongst the group is Lucas Gray, a half human, half shadow warrior with the ability to become invisible, he has a vendetta of his own but is currently fighting alongside other Unhuman to rid the world of Hunters.

I loved Lucas! He was gorgeous, mysterious and fascinating and I was so eager to learn more about him. His emotions were certainly conflicted when it came to Evie, he originally set-out to spy on her and eventually kill her but his feelings changed along the way; I always enjoy the forbidden love trope and it was certainly the case in this book, especially when their destinies meant they should be killing one another.

The only thing I wish there was more of was interaction and dialogue between Evie & Lucas, I felt this was missing.

Fated is well paced and engaging and Ms Alderson's writing allowed me to become immersed in the wonderful story - which is something I love. I enjoyed the concept of the Hunters/Unhuman, it was intriguing and the history they shared certainly had me wanting to know more. It was a very different read to Ms Alderson's first novel Hunting Lila which I too really enjoyed.

This novel is fast-paced and action packed with a wonderful romance, Fated can certainly be read as a stand-alone but I believe I recently read two more novels in this series have been written, I have my fingers crossed they will be released as I love the world we have been introduced to and would love to read more.
