Really had potential. I liked the premise. Sort of a Cinderella (dressed as Juliette) meets Spartacus story. Michael and Jordis share a kiss at New Year's eve masquerade party. Both are immediately blown away by the explosive kiss but are in costume and don't know each other. Jordis runs away but not before dropping her charm bracelet (shades of Cinderella). Michael is desperate to locate his Juliette is unaware she is a new associate in his law firm. But, when they do meet in the office neither recognizes the other (unbelievable). Michael thought his Juliette was just tanned. And, Jordis didn't recognize Michael because he had gotten a haircut. So, Ms. Rayne was Jordis so light she was darn near white? Hmmm.

The intimate scenes are tastefully done. They are still hot but tasteful. The H and the h are litigators with strong personalities. But, at times they both lack common sense. There is office intrigue but it is never fleshed out. The HEA just ends. The story needs an epilogue to wrap it up. The reader is left with unanswered questions. What happened to the office spy? What happed with the major case? Because no named partner would just leave his firm open to a malpractice suit by just ditching a client in the middle of a multi-million dollar case at the last minute.

There is a teaser for the author's next book. I like giving new authors a try, especially IR authors. I didn't care for the description of the h in the current book or in the teaser. So, I probably won't purchase the next book.

Great book! Loved the storyline and the attention to detail. It was hard to put down. Would love to read another book with a supporting character. Chase would be great!
Loved this book. Forbidden romance steams these pages. Great characters with some unexpected qualities will keep you guessing all the way to the. Get a glass of wine, a comfy chair and enjoy!
Kept your engaged and always interested. Wanted to know what happens next. Characters are very believable with varied personalities.

I truly enjoyed this book. Juliet and The Gladiator was an explosive combo...very interesting mixture of legalese and romance..not to mention Ms. Rayne's shout out to Mel Brooks classic line from one of favorite comedies. I hope the will be a sequel about widower Chase..he seems so very exciting.
One of the best written IR romance I have read in quite some time. The female lead was a strong independent woman and the male lead was a protective alpha, but not overbearingly so. The story developed easily and kept my attention to the end. I have started to notice the low quality of the IR romances that are being produced and sold. Thank god that this was not one. Great read.
Love the whole premise of the book! The cover of the book was deceiving, it was hard figuring out Jordis's race! The chemistry between them was so amazing! I wished her being Juliet would have came out sooner but it still made an interesting read! Loved how Michael supported and protected his woman! I agree with the reviewer who said a lot of things were left undone! Like the spy and the pharmaceutical ruling! An epilogue would have been fantastic! Overall 5 stars for me! Loved it
