This book had me from the very beginning. Shay wrote this book in a way that keeps you wanting to read more. I could not put it down and even read it when I was tired and would fall asleep and wake up and start reading again. It was delightful and entertaining. I would recommend this book to everyone. I didn't want it to end and when it did I just wanted more. Congratulations Shay on a very well written and entertaining book. I am looking forward to reading more books by you.
This book turned out to be not what I was expecting, in a good way. The Tree House was something I had never read before and I really enjoyed it. I absolutely loved the characters and how they dealt with the situations that were thrown at them. The writing brought out emotions, which I love when reading a book. I laughed at some moments and I even had my heart broken at others. I am really hoping for a second book so I can find out what happens next for these characters.
What a great read! Honestly, this book was so full of action and surprises, that it kept me at the edge of my seat. Right from the beginning, it captured my attention. Hailey, the main character, was running for her life. The author did a wonder job developing all of the characters and the plot. This book was a pleasant surprise for me.

The character I loved the most was Jack. He was mysterious and we couldn't really figure out what was his story. I think there was a lot of depth to his character, and I loved the way the author slowly allowed the readers to get to know him better.

If you're looking for a good story to lose yourself into, I highly recommend this action filled YA read!
The Tree House is action-packed, fast paced, and full of great characters. The author wastes no time jumping into the action and I was hooked from the beginning. This is great book for young adults and adults alike. It is a relatively "clean" read; there are some fighting scenes that contain mild violence, but nothing too alarming.

My only set back with this book was because of some things that were not explained well. It didn't hinder me from liking the book, but I believe I would have liked it even more if I didn't have lingering questions about how something works. Even with that said, there is another book in the series, so it may be better explained there.

All in all, I loved this book. I can't wait to read The Trial.
Seldom do I find a piece of writing that is both interesting and entertaining. This is just such a book. It had great character development and a strong and fast moving story line. For a first time book this young lady has done herself well. I encourage her to continue with her writing. It can only get better as she continues to develop her skills and desire to write. I was drawn into her story and found it most difficult to put the book down. Actually, I kept it by my side and when I had five or more minutes to continue reading I would return to the story. I especially like the ending. It was imaginative and rather surprising to say the least. I more than recommend this book to anyone who loves exciting and fast moving stories. A story with a serious feel to it as the girl in the story discovered and then dealt with her problem. I always thought of a tree house as a sanctuary, a place where one could find solitude and peace when life was dealing someone some serious problems. This was far beyond that. GOOD JOB! B. D. The Tree House, is a odd book when you first start to read it. We read about Hailey one of the main character's is being chased by men in black suits from her house. Why are they chasing her? What did she do? What is going on? You want to know and find out everything right now! Hailey goes into a dinner and meets 'no name' because he wouldn't give her a name. Is he one that is chasing her also? Or will he help her? Hailey starts asking him all these questions but, at the same time, he won't answer them. Hailey follows 'No Name' out of the dinner and onto a bus. 'No Name' takes her to a sanctuary The Tree house. The Tree house is a place where some who are in the same situation as Hailey have gathered together to live and survive.

It is a page turner for sure.
The storyline flowed and the action was fairly continuous. A teen would enjoy it. If I had a criticism it would be that there was way too much narration and telling rather than showing.The descriptions of the Tree House were probably the best. I'm not convinced by the premise of the chip and the reasons for it. I would have liked to see some evidence of the author's research in there so it seemed less fanciful and unrealistic. The characterisation was great and I loved the little group the author created. Jack was very strong as the dark, mysterious, brooding leader and his dynamic with the rest of the group was easy to see. The ending provided a good springboard for the rest of the series with the realisation that things aren't always over when you think they are. It will be interesting to see where this goes.
